The Business, Transportation and Housing Agency (BT&H) has launched a Performance Improvement Initiative to ensure clarity of focus on program outcomes and efficiency of departmental operations with the goal of achieving optimal cost-effectiveness so that the citizens and taxpayers of California and the customers of all departments can be assured they are getting a “high rate of return” on their investment of tax dollars and fees. The work performed in the Performance Improvement Initiative will be reported directly to the California Performance Review established by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of all of California government. To assist the BT&H in its review of departments under its purview, including the Department of Corporations (DOC), for the purpose of ensuring the departments are operating in a business-like, customer-friendly manner that is clear, transparent and accountable to the public, the BT&H has enlisted the aid of a blue ribbon, advisory Expert Review Panel. As part of its work, the Panel is holding a public meeting to solicit from the industry the DOC regulates input regarding the department’s mission, outcomes, performance metrics and benchmarks with similar organizations. All interested parties are invited to attend the meeting to provide recommendations as to how the department can improve its performance to better achieve the goals stated above. Brief oral testimony will be taken at the meeting, but because of the short timeframe the Panel has to complete its work, it is advisable that interested parties also provide their input in writing, preferably in electronic format.

If you plan to attend this meeting, please allow enough time for the security check-in, and bring photo identification with you.
