As part of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s overall effort to improve effectiveness and efficiency in all state government, the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency (BT&H) launched a Performance Improvement Initiative last December to ensure clarity of focus on program outcomes and efficiency of operations. Secretary Sunne Wright McPeak of the BT&H wants to thank all transportation stakeholders who worked hard and provided input on the many efforts trying to improve transportation in California. She wishes to extend those stakeholders an opportunity to discuss with her the recommendations and issues raised during Expert Review Panel and other deliberations as they relate to project delivery, innovative finance, and transportation funding. These recommendations and issues are being used by BT&H as it moves forward in working with Governor Schwarzenegger’s office on the May Revision of the Budget, the California Performance Review, and the transportation component of the Performance Improvement Initiative.
